Italian Summer Cheese Pairings: Fresh Mozzarella and Farmers Market Heirloom Tomatoes with Basil
If you’re stopping by the farmer’s market every Sunday morning, you’ll need to come into Giolitti’s and grab a ball of fresh mozzarella. You can slice our fresh mozzarella balls by hand and load on top of juicy, sliced farmer’s market heirloom tomatoes. Top with salt, pepper, fresh basil from your garden, and drizzle with olive oil for the best caprese in town.
Pair a Crusty Baguette with Burrata Cheese
Burrata cheese is perfect for pairing with a crusty baguette for a picnic with a loved one. Keep burrata cheese on ice in a picnic basket with some fresh, house-made pesto from Giolitti’s. When you arrive at your designated picnic spot, you can cut into your burrata cheese and spread the creamy cheese evenly on a crusty baguette. Top with a thin layer of pesto and enjoy!
Buffalo Mozzarella Bruschetta with Prosciutto
You’ll want to pick up 6-7 ripe, red heirloom tomatoes from the farmers market that can be cut into easily with diced garlic. Chop until finely sliced and add into a mixing bowl. Add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and a dash of balsamic vinegar to your taste. Spoon over a freshly-baked baguette loaded with buffalo mozzarella and thinly-sliced prosciutto from Giolitti’s. Buon Appetito!
