Italian Antipasti: Caprese with Balsamic Glaze

If you’re new to Italian antipasti, caprese is a simple palate-pleasing dish made from thick-sliced tomatoes stacked with fresh mozzarella and herbaceous basil drizzled in a balsamic glaze. We top each caprese stack with a light serving of extra olive oil, salt, and cracked pepper. This refreshing, summertime dish is best served cold while dining alfresco.
