Lasagna is one of the most notable Italian dishes, and it can easily be made to suit a vegetarian diet. While it typically is made with ground beef, you can make your own lasagna with a variety of vegetables in between the layers of noodles, such as peppers, broccoli, or squash. Be sure to add a lot of ricotta and mozzarella cheese and plenty of your favorite pasta sauce, and you have the perfect dinner! At Giolitti Deli, we serve a very tasty vegetable lasagna made with sautéed spinach, zucchini, and mushrooms.
There are many vegetarian pizzas to choose from, but a classic Margherita pizza is always a great choice. Build your own Neopolitan-style hand-stretched pizzas at Giolitti Deli for $10.95, with the option of adding $2 or $3 authentic toppings, or choose one of our 14” Neopolitan artisan pizzas. The Margherita pizza is made with the traditional tomato, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Be sure to also try our vegetarian Funghi pizza, a white pizza with sauteed mushrooms, and our Quatro Formaggi pizza, made with mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta, and gorgonzola.
Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe
Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (cheese and pepper) is a classic Roman dish that couldn’t be easier to make. In fact, all you need is pasta, pepper, olive oil, cheese, boiling water, and about 15 minutes to make this vegetarian meal. Simply cook ½ lb of spaghetti to al dente and reserve one cup of the pasta water, then toss with three tablespoons of Extra Virgin olive oil, one or two tablespoons of freshly ground black pepper, and ½ cup of freshly grated Pecorino Romano cheese. Add the remaining pasta water to make the sauce nice and creamy, and you’ll have a delicious dinner in no time! Giolitti Deli serves many vegetarian pasta dishes, including Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (garlic and olive oil), Penna Marinara, Spaghetti al Pesto, Fettucine Primavera, Fettucine Alfredo, and Spaghetti Alla Caprese.
Vegetarian meals are usually easy to spot, but it can be tricky to know if a meal is vegan. At Giolitti Deli, we strive to make our menu as vegetarian and vegan-friendly as possible. Our breads, marinara sauce, and roasted and marinated vegetables are all vegan, and many of our pastas can be made vegan (no eggs or dairy products) upon request.
